This week has been SO FREAKING BUSY. I have been doing so much... I lead 3 different book studies, am planning a relay for life team and then am on the board for a youth age camp, and then a group that I am associated with is starting a pregnancy teen center in the town that I live in which is AWESOME! Meetings, meetings and MORE MEETINGS.
Each book study that I am doing involves all the members as a whole they each have to do their "homework" and make sure they understand the material before we go to the next chapter, which is good. They are a good group of kids and work really hard.
Relay for life for all who don't know is a organization that raises money for cancer patients and trying to help find a cure to prevent cancer. I have a team of 14 people that are willing to be on this, we have raised over a thousand dollars and it is all coming together so well! But its just time consuming and on top of so many other things just adds to the pile of work that I must do.
The camp that I am working on is called Barry County Youth Camp, it is a camp for underprivileged kids that are not usually able to go to a camp. Most of these kids are coming from abusive homes and that doesn't just mean verbally, I don't know how many times over the last 6 years that I have been there, the cops have been called on at least one family and then Social Services has the opportunity to take the children away from the families.
The Pregnancy Teen center that I am going to be apart of is an awesome idea, if people actually start to help out, our city is in need of something like this we really are. I just hope that people start to realize that there are resources that can help them.
I guess I shouldn't complain about all that is going on because it is so good, i just believe that sometimes you just have to say no. Which really sucks.
