Oil Spill

I was not aware of the BP oil spill that still remained in the Gulf of Mexico, the oil isn’t degrading as they had planned and is doing strange things to the life that lives on the sea floor. The last I had heard of this was that everything was on the uphill and that all would be well by at least by the end of 2011. I guess that the University of Georgia put a submarine down around the BP spillage site they were in a rude awakening that the soiled area that they had visited before wasn’t all cleaned up, but just about the same as when they had left it the first time. Through the article that I have provided it explains that one of the scientists Joye, proclaims that they are finding very different results unlike what some of the major conferences like in Washington are telling the world (that everything is going well and that the microbes are doing a great job of eating the oil). From what I could understand was that different Departments are saying that most of the oil is gone or even that the oil is being eaten away by the microbes “fairly fast”, when it is actually not. Joye has taken five different expeditions to this BP oil spill site and is now showing pictures of “oil chocked bottom dwelling creatures” You all should look at these, they are disgusting! There is a noticeable change between the start and the end product. When you see the sea floor Joye says, there is soot and stuff left by the attempt to burn the oil out. From research that I have found, it is a disaster still is still currently a problem that all humans should be aware of.

Local Bands.

Here in the small town of Monett, Missouri we are having an out pour of local bands that are currently arising. This is a great thing while working at a local coffee shop that wants bands to come in and play acoustic sets and such. Some of the bands that have started to build more and more credit around the town would be, The Captain's Son and A Hope For Redemption.  They are both really good and are starting to play around town more and more. Both are stellar and have very different styles of music. The Captain's Son is very urban and more poppy rather than A Hope for Redemption is more metal core and are Christian. Both bands have their ups and downs but I was just thinking about how many bands are starting to come more and more out of the wood works. Like Never Shout Never, he came from a town (Joplin) 45 minutes away from where I live. For Today a band from Illinois is HUGE now. And even though this is cheesy look at Justin Beiber, I dislike Justin's style of music, but look at what he had to do to become famous. It just strikes me as odd for people to come out of little towns and become HUGE. Just shows that anything is possible in our world.

Lady Gaga.

What is our world coming to!? I read the other day about this little girl that is in the 5th grade and she was singing the newest Lady Gaga song, and playing it on the piano. How nuts is that? Why are we teaching our kids to be the next copy cat and not making their own music? I understand learning new things like as a beginner but mastering the art of Lady Gaga? I don't understand it. How come we haven't learned about individuality it makes me think that we are becoming "little monsters" in the world of the media.
Another thing that I don't understand is wanting to look like celebrities,  I just don't get it..
here are some cites that I have found that show us the most common celebrity look a likes and the little girl who can play the piano and sing like Gaga.

Youth Centers.

I am currently sitting at our communities youth center, and it is a WILD NIGHT. I do believe that with my eight years of experience at various teen age type events it has taught me so much. Just because you never know what is going to happen. Over the years of having been around all sorts of kids from straight up hooligans to the perfect kids this causes you to be in several situations, just because of what you have learned. Tonight we have had one kid get mugged by a local "gang", another girl got DFS called on her family because she came here to hang out with a black eye that her father had given her and then we had another kid threatened to beat her up. so it has been an eventful night needless to say... we have had the police here and many many angry parents. What do you expect when you are involved with teenage kids and then living in a not so nice town.  I wouldn't have it any other way though, because you get o love on the kids and show them what a true abundant love actually is.

Intelligent Design

We watched this sweet little movie that was about Intelligent Design that had Ben Stein in it as the person who interviewed people, it lead to a lot of discussion about weather or not its right and then lead to an argument pretty much. It shows you a lot of how we as humans act and how defensive we are.
This movie is about Ben traveling around the world and interviewing huge icons in the science world, he goes to several people who have been cut out of jobs and disowned pretty much because they see evidence that could point to intelligent design, they never flat out said that they believe in this. They just see hits of the bigger puzzle that could connect them. But then he interviews people who support Darwinism and modern evolutionary synthesis. Pretty much through the whole movie it is shown like a conspiracy to keep God out of science weather it be in laboratories or classrooms. In the movie it focus’ on fascism, the Nazi Holocaust, communism, atheism, and eugenics. All this video is giving direction is to describe intelligent design as a motive for science, rather than religion. Expelled merely examines political issues.
But we watched this movie and had a sweet little discussion and came up to a bunch of nothing because it was way over our heads.

Yeah.

Sooooooooooooo... this weekend I decided to gauge my ears, this is a weird thing for me to do. It hurt so bad, probably because I went from a regular ear size to a size 14. I don't know how healthy that is for your body but hey whats gonna happen lol. I have suddenly realized that I am becoming very different from what I had originally thought my life and how I would live it from my junior high "where do you wanna be after high school?" examine yourself thing. It is truly amazing how much you change throughout time, and how much of an influence people can be on you... This is what I am thinking about over the course of these next couple weeks. :) Just because of the fact that I am not even like that easily swayed in my opinions and its just amazing what the media and just people in general can corrupt your mind into thinking.

Snow

Today seemed like a good day to do some homework because of all this stupid snow! Blah. I do like snow whenever it is in small increments. I do not like all this 1/2" of ice and 7 3/4'' of snow by 1:00. How ridiculous is that! I guess in this area we are lucky enough to have all sorts of weather which is a plus i suppose, I wouldn't want to live in a area where it is rainy all the time or sunny all the time. That would stink. Here is a picture of what it looks like in my area. :)
